A FANTASTIC HISTORY

The Cirque du Soleil was founded by Laliberté, a folk musician that begun with other friends named: Daniel Gauthier and Gilles Ste-Croix. his first tour was in Quebec and the Quebec goverment help fund his production but the time and low experience make that this tour was a mistake.
The second tour was better, because the people increassed his trained and people with acting skills make a better group and begun to know them.
Laliberté with his production group start to plain his tours around the world and visited places like Hawai, EU, and Europe cities like Paris, London and Rome.
Actually Laliberté managed and produced the fair over the next couple years, nurturing it into a moderate financial success, he also thought that a better new perfomance will be to have a kids show, this was a great idea for The Cirque du Soliel because this act increassed the customers and audience.

CHANTAL TREMBLAY, THE ACTOR'S FRIEND

CHANTAL OF CIRQUE DU SOLEIL:
"By the time a show premieres, everyone is already exhausted. They've been working intensely, giving their all for six, seven days a week, for weeks on end. And after the premiere, they don't stop, they have to keep going. How do you keep their energy up when you've got a show to do and seats to fill, not just the next day, but the day after that, and the day after that…"

the function of this person is to keep the artists and the show fresh night after night. he is some like a "operator" for all shows that the cirque su soleil make. he said that: "I don't work with the director or the creators on the concept or the ideas, but I do participate enough to understand where they're coming from, how the show is supposed to work. Then, I create what I call an infrastructure for the show." but he is some more that a director for the actors, he take care them and he is a kind of support for them.

WORKING HARD...

With several live shows currently running, Cirque du Soleil is always in search of fresh new talent. How does Cirque find that talent? And what exactly is Cirque looking for? Florence Pot and Fabrice Becker are Cirque du Soleil talent scouts. They attend 15 major athletic competitions and around 12 auditions every year to find the right people "Sixty-five per cent of Cirque artists are acrobats," explains Florence, whose background is in gymnastics, "So our first impulse is to look for elite athletes in serious competition, who can measure up to the high standards that are going to be imposed on them." According to Florence, the athletes can come from a wide range of disciplines. These include artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, acrosport, tumbling, trampolining, diving, synchronized swimming and extreme sports.
"We try to keep track of athletes over a long period of time," says Fabrice, whose own background is in freestyle skiing. It's a long process. We have to monitor their progress, evaluate their potential, and offer them opportunities as they come along." Florence and Fabrice scouted talent at the Olympics for the first time at the 2000 Summer Games in Sydney. "The Olympics were a great opportunity for casting," says Florence. "For one thing, they're a gathering point for the world's best. For another, they represent a great moment in the lives of many athletes, a period of transition. It's a good time to offer them a second career."
